PACIFIC CUP AT KANEOHE YACHT CLUB
HOST OF THE PACIFIC CUP FINISH LINE
Kaneohe Yacht Club is the finish line host for the Pacific Cup. The Pacific Cup is a yacht race from San Francisco to Kaneohe Yacht Club on Oahu. The race is run in even-numbered years by the Pacific Cup Yacht Club and others. This “Fun Race to Hawaii” has run for over 26 years with hundreds of boats from 24-foot to 140-foot yachts. Innumerable family efforts and avid racers have successfully challenged and sailed the 2,070 nautical mile course.
The "FUN Race to Hawaii" runs every even year from San Francisco to Hawaii. Started in 1980, the race has been enjoyed by thousands of racers sailing well over a million miles in total.
The 2014 Pacific Cup will start the week of July 6, 2014, and invites 70 well-prepared boats to race to the warm, welcoming shores of Kaneohe Bay, Oahu. For a list of participating boats click HERE.
KYC arranges the finish line activities and parties. Participating sailors have the opportunity to lounge by the pool, in the bar, or in the "Long House" sharing stories and waiting for the next boat to arrive. The evenings light up with country line dancing and music, a spectacular luau, followed by a Mount Gay-featured party, and culminating with the awards party and the handing out of trophies.
